This is an amateur-level competition open to dancers who have not placed in the top 3 in any Lindy Hop competition. This includes weekend events and national and international competitions, as well as regional and local competitions.
Email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have placed, but would still like to compete at the amateur level, and we can discuss whether that level is appropriate.
This is an open-level contest: any dancer can enter regardless of competition experience, and the best dancer wins.
Dancers will enter as individuals, and will be paired with 3 random partners. In the preliminary round on Saturday afternoon, these couples will dance to a variety of songs. The best competitors of each role will advance to the final round on Saturday night. There, competitors will be randomly assigned one partner; these couples will dance in all-skates and jams. The best couple as determined by Fog City Stomp judges will win. Judges will look for technique, musicality, and ability to relate to one’s partner. Mandatory competitor’s meeting for finalists approximately 15 minutes before the contest starts.
This is an invitational-level competition open to dancers determined by the organizers. We will be pairing the Fog City Stomp instructors with other local/regional teachers and dancers in a spotlight/all-skate format on Sunday night.

Half & Half
This contest pushes the boundaries of your dancing capabilities by asking you to blend improvisational solo jazz with your partnered Lindy Hop! This contest is open to dancers of any level who are looking for a challenge. Find a partner and work on your solo jazz and Lindy Hop leading up to FCS, especially if you’re used to entering the high level social dance contests at events you attend. The goal of this contest is to blend the two dances, so be sure to respond to your partner when solo dancing, and work your solo even when partnering. Aerials are permitted if done safely.
